Treatment for Thread Veins
Thread veins, sometimes referred to as red veins on legs can cause discomfort and embarrassment. Although not a health problem, they can contribute to a loss of self-esteem and confidence particularly when choosing clothes. Attempts to cover up thread veins by way of clothes and cosmetics often prove disappointing, time consuming and costly.
A simple treatment called Sclerotherapy can provide the solution! A very tiny needle is inserted into the skin and the sclerosing material is then injected until the surrounding vessels in the region fade from view. Each subsequent site is injected in the same way until the entire treatment area is completed successfully.
Treatment of varicose veins, usually deeper blue veins, may require our IPL laser and possibly our Lumenis One Nd:YAG. A cool gel is applied to the treatment area, easing any slight stinging that may be felt during treatment.
Your consultant then guides the IPL or laser across the surface of the skin.
