Breast cancer is the most common cancer with around 50,000 women and 400 men diagnosed each year. This results in thousands of patients undergoing breast reconstruction following a mastectomy.
Medical tattooing procedures include Areola Restoration, where an Areola is created after the results of reconstructive surgery have left the patient with little or no areola. MT Training is a programme providing training in medical tattooing procedures to micropigmentation specialists, healthcare professionals and nurses; privately or within the NHS.
The procedure itself works by implanting small fragments of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin, creating a realistic yet subtle areola. This can also help to disguise any scarring that may be left around the areola which occurred from surgery.
MT Training Medical Tattooing – What’s Involved
MT Training can offer on site medical tattooing training courses for four or more nurses; this can help reduce patient waiting lists. We also offer a two day intensive medical tattooing training course for micropigmentation specialists at our state of the art clinic in Stoke Mandeville. We can also provide refresher workshops in Areola Restoration and Scar Camouflage.
