Do I need a consultation?
It is advised that you should have a consultation prior to any treatment, and for some treatments this is compulsory. It is in your consultation that your practitioner will explain all treatment options available to you, and you can work together in creating your individual treatment plan. This is also the time in which we can recognise what treatments may not be suitable for you; for reasons like medications. It is an opportunity for you to meet your practitioner and ask any questions you may have before treatment, making sure that you are in no way unsure and fully understand what is involved in your proposed treatment.
If I have had treatment elsewhere before do I still have to have a consultation?
Yes. It is important for our practitioners to gain all relevant information and medical history from you, to understand your concerns and put together an appropriate treatment plan. If you have had Laser Hair Removal or IPL treatments elsewhere we will still need to carry out our own patch test due to company policy.
What aftercare is available once I have had treatment?
Your treatment does not stop once you have left the clinic. We are here for your support and advice at all times. Many treatments are on-going and numerous visits are required. When seeing our Registered Prescribing Nurse for any injectable treatments we will book you in two weeks after your treatment in order to have your treatment reviewed, any concerns addressed and any necessary top-ups made.
What information will you need?
On your first visit to the clinic you will be asked to fill out a Registration Form and a Medical Questionnaire asking you for some medical history and general information. This is all kept in strictest confidence following all Data Protection regulations.
How will my information be stored?
During your first appointment we will create your personal record with electronic notes that are password protected. Other than the relevant members of staff no one will have access to these records and all information is held in the strictest confidence. The electronic records are kept under password protection. Whitethorn Fields MediClinic is registered under the Data Protection Act to keep detailed records for each client.
How can I pay?
We have a variety of options available to suit everybody. You can pay as you go, or we have specialist course prices. A payment plan known as FacePlan can also be set up which involves a direct debit to the clinic for your account here which can then be redeemed against treatments. There are numerous payment options available for any surgery, all of which will be discussed at consultation.
What is your cancellation policy?
The full fee of your treatment will be charged if you cancel or change your appointment without giving 24 hours notice.

What experience does your surgeon have?
Mr Ghosh has been a practising plastic surgeon since 1991, although he graduated in 1987. He has worked in this field continually since then.
Is plastic surgery the right choice for me?
Everyone has different reasons for wanting to undergo a plastic surgery procedure, whether it is for purely cosmetic reasons or as reconstruction following surgery. Each potential patient has a full consultation prior to making their decision. You can discuss your reasons for wanting the surgery to make sure it is really what you want to do, and our consultant will advise on the procedure so you are fully aware of what to expect before, during and after the procedure has been performed.
Do I need to speak to my GP to get a referral?
There is no need to consult your GP before making an appointment at Whitethorn Fields MediClinic; however it is advised that you do so. Your GP should be kept fully informed on all matters concerning your health and any medical treatments you plan to undergo, even those you will be paying for privately.
Will my first consultation be with the surgeon?
For any surgical procedures, the surgeon Mr Ghosh will conduct your consultation. When you first arrive at the clinic you will need to fill in a medical questionnaire and a registration form. Mr Ghosh will use this information to learn your medical history and a little bit more about you. You will then be given the chance to discuss your requirements with Mr Ghosh who will take you through the entire procedure. Mr Ghosh will be the one to carry out your initial examination during your consultation.
What happens next?
You will receive a lot of information during your consultation, including the quote for the procedure. You will be able to browse the literature in your own time before making a final decision as to whether or not to go ahead. There is no pressure to make your decision right away and you can book your appointment if you still want to go ahead with the procedure as soon as you are ready.
Is there a digital image of what I can expect to look like after surgery?
There will be no digital imagery of what you can expect to look like after the operation has been performed. Mr Ghosh believes that digital images will not show a true and accurate likeness, and from all his years of experience he believes that to have one would not be beneficial.
Am I able to ask questions?
You can ask Mr Ghosh any questions you like, the more the better as we would prefer you to have all the information you need to make the right decision for you. Write a list of questions beforehand so you are prepared. However if you forget anything you can always ask these questions at a later date.
How do I book a consultation?
You can book a consultation simply by making a call to Mr Ghosh’s private secretary, Cathy Young, on 0845 304 7083 or 07518914475 who will be happy to help you.
